What is an Operating System? This is a very common question and every computer user should know about this. If you don't know about this then don't worry today I am going to tell you about this, and along with this, I will also cover some other parts of this. As we all know that everyone is using such kind of operating system directly or indirectly. Whether we are using a Laptop, a PC, or a mobile phone.

Whenever you buy any Mobile phones or Computers, that time you say about Android, Windows, Mac, Linux names to the seller. These are the names of Operating systems. When it comes to mobile phones, then you people tell about Android KitKat or Android Oreo, And when it comes to computer then you tell, Windows XP 7, 8, 10, Mac OS something like that.

So it's just a way to get or buy a computer or mobile phone. Most people know only the name of these OS. Not everyone knows about the actual work of OS. Let's find out.

What is an Operating System?

An Operating System is also called OS or System Software.

An Operating System is the heart of the computer. OS works like a bridge between computer hardware and the Interface.

OS helps you to work on the computer. You type through the keyboard, play video, edit video, play games, save the file on a word file or any other format everything is done by OS.

 A brand new computer is always blank. So when you have a computer the seller asks you which OS you want to install on your PC or laptop like Windows XP, 7, 8, 10. (Now Windows XP is a very old version, does not run in new generation processors). Then you decide on anyone among these. After selecting an OS the seller installs, then your PC starts working.

 If someone doesn't know which OS he is working on, he can know it very easily. Whenever a computer starts or closes the name of OS comes up on the screen first.

Operating System is a collection of programs that runs other useful programs.

It controls all the Input and Output devices.
